Kandeez models to help local children’s charity CHAT…

Kandeez will be strutting their stuff at a charity fashion show in aid of local children’s charity CHAT (Children, Health & Therapy).  We have previously supported this charity by performing at Aylesbury Civic Centre and donating the proceeds of our Christmas raffle.

Dancers between the ages of 5 & 12 will be modelling clothes from many well known High Street brands at the show on Friday 27th May from 6.30pm at Booker Park, Stoke Mandeville.

For more information on Kandeez’ involvement in this event please contact Michelle on 07884 181307 or email info@kandeezdance.co.uk.  For further information about CHAT, visit their website www.chat-charity.org.uk.

Goodbye & Good Luck Georgie

It is with much sadness that I must inform you that our Teaching Assistant Georgie Smith, has taken the decision to leave the Dance School.  Georgie is off to University in September and wants to focus on this new chapter in her life.

Georgie was a pupil at Kandeez from the age of 15 and has helped out in our classes for the last couple of years.  Her support, dedication and love of dancing and Kandeez has never faltered and she has helped shape the Dance School into the success it is today.

I know Georgie will be hugely missed by everyone, especially me.  She has been an incredible member of staff and wonderful friend.  Good luck in everything you do Georgie.  I know your future is a bright one.  Come back and see us soon.

Annie Jr – roles confirmed…

Annie Jr rehearsals got off to a fantastic start on Saturday!

Well done to everyone who auditioned, including Sophie Bewick and Bella Higgs who will both be playing the role of Annie.  We were pleased to be able to offer a speaking role to everyone who auditioned for one.

We will be auditioning boys separately for the remaining 6 roles.  If you know of any boys who would like audition, please contact Michelle ASAP.

Annie Jr. auditions….

Thank you to everyone who attended our Annie Jr auditions on Saturday morning.  We were all impressed by the level of talent shown!

We would like to invite everyone who auditioned to come back this coming Saturday 29th to find out who has been cast in each role and to start rehearsals.

Rehearsals – Buckingham Park Community Centre, 10.30-12.30, cost £6 each payable weekly.  Please bring a drink and a snack.

Anyone with queries at this stage please contact Michelle.

A word from the Principal…

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful festive season and that you are looking forward to what 2011 has in store.

2010 was an excellent year for Kandeez - our pupils took part in:

*  Two exam sessions, gaining 98% Honours and 2% Commended overall.
*  Several competitions, including the ISTD National Grand Finals Day, bringing home over 100 trophies.
*  Eight displays including 2 Kandeez Talentz days in Aylesbury Town Centre.
*  Performances with the English Youth Ballet.
*  Panto at the new Waterside Theatre.
*  Waddesdon Manor at Christmas.

2011 stands to be an even better year for Kandeez and we already have many events in the pipeline.  There will also be some positive changes made to the Dance School this year.  Some of these have already taken place and some are yet to come!  I will shortly be adding a feedback button to the website so you can tell us what you think we’re doing well and what we need to improve upon.

Thank you for your support during 2010 and I look forward to welcoming you all back to class from Monday.
