Miss Michelle Bradford

A.I.S.T.D (Disco/Freestyle, Street, Rock & Roll)

Principal & Founder

Michelle e1291228973811 121x150 Teaching StaffMichelle began her dance training in Disco Freestyle and Rock & Roll aged 8.
During her time as an amateur dancer, Michelle completed her exams to an advanced level and was also an Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) competition winner.
Michelle has performed in numerous productions and at the age of 17, was invited to make her choreographic debut in AVDC’s ‘James Bond Extravaganza.’

Professionally trained by former ISTD DFR Vice-Chairman, the late Miss Betty Bouston, Michelle also works outside the Dance School with various Community Groups.  Past projects include working with Aston Clinton Youth Club as their Team Trainer and as Guest Teacher at AVDC’s Dance Fever Intensive Workshops.
Michelle’s current projects include children’s Dance Parties, Private Lessons, Wedding Couple’s First Dances and working with the local Council as an Appointed Dance Teacher for Bucks.

More recently, Michelle has been appointed Dance Teacher at the MacIntyre School for children with learning disabilities.

Michelle believes that to better your pupils you must also better yourself as a teacher and continually looks for ways to do this.  She attends regular courses and is currently studying for her Licentiate exam with the ISTD.

Mrs Claire Alderton

Team Trainer

Claire e1290379814572 109x150 Teaching StaffClaire started her dance training at the age of 10 in Disco Freestyle, Rock & Roll, Latin American and Ballroom at Moonglow Studios, Watford.  During this time Claire completed her exams to an advanced level, enjoyed success at many competitions and danced at various events, including fashion shows.

Claire trains our Over 16 Beginner Team ‘Ultraviolet.’  She feels that dance is an expression of personality and enjoys seeing our pupils develop in their dancing and self-confidence.

Miss Carla Lucas

Teacher – Ballet, Tap & Musical Theatre

Carla Lucas e1317311021787 84x150 Teaching StaffCarla trained locally as a child and took part in many dance festivals, pantomimes and local theatre group productions.

From the age of 16, Carla studied at the Margaret Howard Theatre College where she completed a three year performance and teacher training course.  Carla also graduated with a Musical Theatre diploma.

Carla holds her Foundation in Dance Instruction with the ISTD.  She is currently working towards her DDE.

Miss Becky Swatton

Becky Swatton1 248x300 Teaching StaffBecky began dancing at the age of 3 at a local Dance School.  During her time as an amateur she took part in many local theatre productions and also gained her International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Intermediate Professional Performer exams in Ballet & Tap.

As a professional, Becky has achieved her Associate qualifications in Freestyle and Cheerleading with the IDTA and is currently in the process of gaining her Ballet and Tap Associate teaching qualifications.
Becky is also a Qualified Instructor of ‘Street Fit’ which is a fusion of Street Dance and Aerobics.

Becky enjoys learning different teaching techniques from other dance professionals and bettering herself by taking regular courses, in turn bringing out the best in her pupils.

Miss Claire Kempt

Cover Teacher – Ballet, Tap & Musical Theatre

Claire Kempt 199x300 Teaching StaffClaire trained in many genres of dance and choreography at a local Dance School from a young age.  She then went onto graduate from Bird College with a 3 Year Professional Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre.

Credits include The English Youth Ballet, Sleeping Beauty and Coppelia (Wycombe Swan), Commercial Jazz Dancer/model for Capezio (Move it, Olympia main stage), Crazy for You (Studio Theatre), Icons and Legends, Noitamina, Burlesque and other Distractions as a singer/dancer (Orchard Theatre). Claire has also played the part of a Ballerina in the series MI High for CBBC.

Claire has recently been performing in Israel as a Dance Captain and Singer/Dancer in Theatres and also teaches Commercial Jazz at Kings College, London.
